Camp Endres

At Camp Endres Day Camp, we provide a fun atmosphere that not only fosters learning and growth in T1D management and knowledge but also allows kids to experience friendships with others that are going through this disease. We provide daily education on a level that is age-appropriate, fun activities that get them moving, and exciting crafts to remember their awesome week at Camp Endres.

At Camp Endres Junior, we love to combine fun activities with education to keep the kids engaged in learning more about type 1 diabetes. What's special about our staff is most of them actually have T1D and the ones who do not are closely involved in the type 1 diabetes community. Our medical staff make it their mission to monitor each camper's blood sugar levels with the goal of never having to interrupt play. This is important because this allows all of our kids to feel "normal" and that there is so much more to life than worrying about T1D 24/7.

At the Camp Endres Spring Fling, we allow our campers to practice their independence with their T1D management while being monitored by a team of healthcare professionals. Our campers choose the activities they wish to go to and are encouraged to make decisions on their own. Our counselors ensure that every camper is safe when they are with us and are having the best experience possible.

We get the question a lot, "What do you do at diabetes camp? Just talk about carbs and insulin all day?". The answer is no. While we do have daily education sessions to inform our campers about type 1 diabetes, we do many other amazing activities like any other summer camp. We have activities like slip 'n' slide kickball, color wars, zip-lining, rock climbing and even a giant dance party at the end of the week with our beloved DJ Ikoniq.
