In the wild, wonderful, and wacky world of Ohio, lies a band of brave, bouncing, and bewitching children known as the 'Ohio Dance Dynamites'. Ohio, a state known for its cornfields, humming cities, and the sparkling Lake Erie, is as full of personality as a peanut butter sandwich is to jelly. This magical place is where the Dance Dynamites roll up, each kid a bright spark in the Ohio sky. These sprightly sprouts are not your everyday Ohio kids. They're as bendy as buckeye branches and as spry as speedy squirrels. The leader of this supernova crew is a character as cool as a cucumber, Captain Funky Footwork. He's not just a regular boy from Toledo. With his disco-ball helmet, shoes that tie themselves, and a heart as big as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he's a true icon in the Dance Dynamite's universe. Captain Funky Footwork and the Ohio Dance Dynamites are always ready to pop, lock, and drop it! They believe that each river in Ohio beats with a rhythmic flow and every cornfield rustles like a maraca. And so, they dance - in Dayton, in Cleveland, in Columbus, and even in the smallest of Ohio towns. Their dance is not just a regular two-step or a ballet pirouette, it’s a jumble of giggles, wiggles, and Ohio pride, that makes every adult wish they could swing their hips like a hula hoop too. The Ohio Dance Dynamites and their leader, Captain Funky Footwork, believe that the beat of Ohio is in their hearts, and they’re ready to dance it out, one funky footwork at a time!

In 1961, this wonderfully energetic woman would have nothing less than a place to impart her love and enjoyment for dance. As Mason's first dance studio, Naomi's legacy continues in the lives of her daughter and the teachers who have the privilege of teaching dance! Our classes are taught by very experienced instructors, many of whom have twenty to thirty five years of experience teaching. We go to great care to craft our curricula so that class instruction ensures proper progression for the dancer in a continuous, planned program year-round. Our nine-month sessions are developed for the goal of providing the continuity dancers need to progress. Each nine-month term concludes with an annual spring recital. We accept students as young as three, up to adults, beginner through advanced levels. For optimal training, we do limit class sizes.

Mason Dance Center is committed to providing its students with a great facility. Our spacious facility has a large lobby with CCTV for viewing and 4 dance rooms. All of our dance rooms have special "floating" wood floors. Constructed of two layers of plywood, laid out perpendicular to each other, the underside of each 4x8 sheet has 32 Robbins Bio-Pads so that the wood floats above the base floor and has the resiliency needed to help prevent injury and fatigue in our students and staff. In Room A and D, the wood layers are topped with Harlequin flooring. Room C has a top layer of Timberfloor from EFS, a beautiful wood-look flooring. Room B has Adagio flooring from Rosco. This upper layer flooring, designed specifically for dancing, provides a good, slip-resistant surface.
