In 1980 Miss Lois purchased Dance Dimensions from her dance teacher, Lera Rae. Prior to buying the studio, Miss Lois, or Mrs. Ulrich as she was lovingly known, was the Lancerette Director at Alter High School for 15 years. She retired from Alter in 1980 in order to purchase Dance Dimensions. She handed down her love of dance along with Lera Rae’s theory to her daughters Andrea & Lisa. When Andrea and Lisa were young they studied with Lera Rae and then later with their mom. Miss Lois retired in 2014, after having taught dance for over 60 years! Today, the studio is run by her daughters Andrea (Ulrich) Ogg and Lisa (Ulrich) Walters, along with her granddaughter Becky (Ulrich) Blake. They continue her legacy by passing on the love of dance to their students.
We teach classical ballet as the basis for all forms of dance. In ballet class dancers can expect to learn classical ballet technique and steps.
Pointe is an advanced form of ballet, that is only available to dancers aged 12 and over, who have had sufficient ballet training. Placement in pointe class is entirely at the discretion of the teachers.
Lyrical is a style that is rooted in ballet with a focus on expressing emotion through movement. Beginning in 2019 we will be offering lyrical for our intermediate and advanced dancers. Look for this new class on the schedule!
