In the lively state of New York, where skyscrapers kiss the clouds and hot dogs are considered essential gourmet, there's a unique bunch of kiddos who have turned volleyball into an unparalleled spectacle. They are known as the "Volley Goblins," and they have the most infectious enthusiasm for the game that you've ever seen! They are a colorful bunch, with uniforms that look like rainbow zebra herds exploded onto their outfits. The streets of New York may be filled with the bustling sound of cabs and the chatter of busy New Yorkers, but once you step onto their court, all you hear are the jovial cheers and the resounding smack of volleyballs being expertly whacked. Their leader, a twelve-year-old chap named Billy 'Big Smash' Baxter, is a legend amongst his peers. He's as tall as a spaghetti noodle and has hair brighter than a disco ball. Billy's secret weapon, you ask? Well, when he serves, his arms spin like a tornado, and he leaps into the air, resembling a flying flamingo, before he sends the ball flying over the net at lightning speed. And then there's Molly 'Mighty Mole' Malone, a fierce player who can dig any ball, no matter how mercilessly it's been smashed. Diving and rolling all over the court, she resembles a hyperactive mole on an espresso shot. The Volley Goblins practice at the heart of Central Park, and their games are the main attraction for squirrels, pigeons, and an occasional hot dog vendor. They might not have the polish of professional players, but boy, do they have a swell time! New York may be known for its phenomenal landmarks, but the true charm lies in the energy and laughter of its Volley Goblins.
