About Surprise Lake Camp

Surprise Lake Camp is a place like no other. For more than 100 years, young people have been coming here to make lifelong memories and friendships. We believe in the power of community and the importance of fostering deep connections with each other and our natural environment. Our Jewish values and identity are embedded in all that we do, guiding us as we help campers to unplug, grow, and develop skills and confidence that will stay with them long after their time at camp. We are proud of our incredible natural setting, which has been a part of Surprise Lake Camp’s storied history as the nation’s oldest Jewish sleepaway camp. At Surprise Lake Camp, we strive to create a home away from home for our campers. Our days are filled with meaningful activities that honor our Jewish values and traditions, while connecting us to the beauty of nature. We are dedicated to helping each camper discover their unique strengths and develop the skills they need to succeed in life. We believe that the friendships and community connections formed here will remain with our campers for a lifetime. Our camp’s incredible beauty and long-standing history as the nation’s longest-running Jewish sleepaway camp make us proud to call this special place home.
