About Ridgewood Karate Academy

Since 1996, our goal is to have a positive impact to our community! We promote a family environment where students/families become part of our extended family. We promote a positive atmosphere, create lasting friendships, encourage community participation, and promote success and achievement. Creating complete marital artists in a fun and safe environment is our priority. Our system is a fusion of traditional martial arts and modern teaching approach. Students attend weekly classes that target their skill level and age group. We have programs for students from age 3 through teens and adults. We also provide the conditioning programs.

Little Dragons Ages: 3-4

Our Little Dragon program is designed for children ages 4-6. The program emphasizes improving listening and motor skills. Our Little Dragons classes are fast-paced, fun-filled, educational, and motivational. The parents love watching their kids grow in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

Samurai Ages: 5-7 (first session), 8-12 (second session)

Our Samurai program offers an advanced curriculum that trains RKA students efficiently and effectively from white to black belt. Originating from the traditional Shotokan system in Japan, Samurai classes teach students a wide variety of techniques designed to defend and attack. Sparring and other events are often hosted and geared towards Samurai. Samurai classes are also the path students take before the Black Belt Club.

Teens/Adults Ages: 13+

Our teen/adult programs train not only strength but also coordination, hard work, and motivation. Taught by experienced black belts, this program combines fun, fitness, and successful results without the more expensive and boring memberships of other workout programs.
