About JZT Dance & Yoga in Weehawken, NJ
At JZT Dance, located in Weehawken, New Jersey, we are proud to offer exceptional dance training for children ages 3 to 18. Our classes include classical ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip hop, acro, musical theater and children’s combination classes. Our staff of experienced and knowledgeable instructors emphasize technique while also developing confidence, coordination, musicality, rhythm, teamwork, and a love for dance in our students. At the end of the season, our students have an opportunity to showcase their talent and hard work at our annual recital in early June. During this event, parents get to see how far their children have progressed and be proud of their accomplishments. It is an unforgettable experience for all of our students and a great way to end the season. At JZT Dance, we strive to provide a safe, positive, and professional learning environment for children of all ages and abilities. We are committed to helping our students reach their full potential and look forward to seeing their growth and development over the course of the season.

Programs at JZT Dance & Yoga in Weehawken, NJ
BeAKid
COMBINATION CLASSES Ballet and Tap Ages 3 to 4
All of our 3 to 4-year-old dancers will begin their dance training with our Ballet/Tap Combination Classes. The main focus of combination classes is on students having fun and enjoying dance as an everyday activity. This Ballet/Tap Combo Class is a wonderful introduction to dance for our youngest students who want to express their independence without the assistance of mom or dad. Dancers will have fun learning pre-ballet movements and basic tap exercises in a creative and nurturing environment. Students will begin to understand musical timing as well as improve their coordination as they dance to popular children's music. Props are used to enhance the learning experience. Class sizes are kept very small to assure plenty of individual attention for our youngest dancers.

INDIVIDUAL CLASSES Ballet 1 Ages 5 to 6
Ballet is the basis of all dance movement as it develops strength, grace, poise, posture, and musicality. The technical training of ballet is essential for all aspiring young dancers as it provides a strong foundation for all other dance forms. It should be studied by every dancer at all ages and levels. Dancers will have fun learning pre-ballet movement and terminology in ballet and explore their own creative movement styles through the use of imaginative music and games in a safe, positive environment. Students will also work on classroom skills such as following directions, listening, and working with others.

Musical Theater
This musical theater/jazz combo class combines both song with dance. Children will be introduced to the fundamentals of musical theater as well as jazz basics. They will work with familiar music from age-appropriate Broadway shows and Disney movies.
