At Camp Riverbend, we believe in building confidence, not competition. Our philosophy is to honor each camper’s individual talents and efforts. We create an atmosphere of self-discovery and exploration, where every child can be their authentic self and learn new skills in a safe and supportive environment. It’s our mission to encourage every camper to take part in all activities – no matter how small or large the achievement may be. From a camper’s first at-bat to a grand-slam home run, we applaud every milestone along the way. Camp Riverbend is a special place where each camper can feel empowered and celebrated. Our goal is to help every child find their inner confidence and grow in a fun and positive way.

Hapkido is different than the sports listed here as it combines linear and circular movements: punching, kicking, throwing, twisting and utilizing pressure point techniques. These various actions allow the Hapkido practitioner to deal with an opponent using the appropriate level of force. Hapkido is taught as a true Royal Martial Art. The techniques can be applied to subdue, disable or even kill an attacker if necessary. Because the Hapkido practitioner has many options in dealing with an adversary, it can be used successfully by individuals of any size or build. Hapkido is a "soft" martial art, in comparison to other "hard" forms such as Karate and Taekwondo. It is distinctive in that it employs a totally defensive philosophy and posture, rather than attacking, aggressive tactics typical of other martial arts. The Hapkido practitioner, employing this defensive posture, can defend himself successfully against aggressive attacks using only his hands. This is to say the enemy can be controlled by purely defensive means. How you ask? Through using the attacker's own energy and force against himself. The opponent's power can be deflected to control the situation. By using pressure points an opponent can be subdued while inflicting as little or as much physical damage as is needed.

At Artfully Young Art Studio, adults and children have been learning to create art for more than a decade. Led by founder and owner Lisa Young, the studio has become a hub for art enthusiasts. Lisa is a proud member of the New Jersey Pastel and Watercolor Societies and her artwork can be found in private collections around the world, from North America to Europe. She also exhibits her work regularly at art fairs and exhibitions across the Tri-State area. The Artfully Young Art Studio is an artistic oasis that has been helping adults and children express their creativity for more than ten years. Lisa Young, the studio's founder and owner, is a well-regarded member of the New Jersey Pastel and Watercolor Societies and her artwork is highly sought after, with private collections proudly displaying her work in North America and Europe. If you're looking for a place to showcase your art, Lisa is a regular exhibitor at Art Fairs and exhibitions across the Tri-State area.

We understand the importance of healthy development and teach with enthusiasm, patience, and positive reinforcements. We believe that promoting healthy lifestyles from an early age produces the most effective and beneficial outcome. Our program results in the improvement of the children’s self-esteem , confidence, motor skills, fitness levels , and communication skills.
