Parents Magazine celebrates Josefina Almonte and her founding of J & L NEXT/GEN (formerly known as JLDC) in 1992. With her living room as her first classroom, Josefina shared her talent and passion for Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Flamenco with her family members and friends. Over the years, she has also offered Hip Hop, Acrobatics, and Contemporary classes to her students. Josefina’s dedication to her craft is evident in her annual dance recital that rivals Broadway shows. With beautiful costumes, award-winning choreography, and spectacular scenery, it is truly an awe-inspiring event. At our martial arts school, we know that family is an important part of parenting. That’s why we are proud to offer Taekwondo classes that are designed with the whole family in mind. Established in 1990, we now have three schools throughout New Jersey, in Union City, West New York, and Bayonne. Our classes are tailored to each age group, from kids 3 to 6 years old, to children 7 to 12 years, and juniors and adults too. We offer a fun and comprehensive program that helps kids develop motor skills, practice self-defense techniques, and learn discipline, respect, and self-control.
