About Wizards of the Mind in Springfield, NJ
Wizards of the Mind was founded in 2001. Since then we have taught hundreds of students in our Chess Classes, Group math lessons , as well as Art and Russian language classes. We provide Chess and Math Instruction to local children at our facility in Springfield, NJ.

Chess Lessons L0. Beginners (Rating 0 - 200)
L0. Beginners (Rating 0 - 200) Students learn chess from the very beginning. This class teaches students all of the basic rules needed to play a full game of chess. Students learn how all the chess pieces move, castling, basics in attacking and defending, checks, checkmates, the value of pieces, and chess notation.

Math
Our Math curriculum is geared towards producing mathematical thinkers. We advocated a problem-solving approach for the teaching and learning of mathematics. We think that Singapore Math Program is the best fit for our philosophy. Our program is divided into Primary Math and Secondary Math. The level of each student is evaluated through a placement test to ensure individual attention and proper placement. We currently run 16 Math classes to accommodate all ages and skill levels.

Art Lessons
We concentrate on creating a fulfilling educational art experience for our students. The lessons designed to introduce the students to the main materials and techniques used in the process of creating art. The materials include watercolor, acrylic, clay sculpture, collage, pencil drawing, and mixed media. These materials are used to create portraits, landscapes, still lives, imaginative compositions, illustrations, figurative compositions as well as abstract artwork.
