
Parents Magazine is proud to introduce Master C.S. Kim, the founder of Yi's Karate Institute of Washington Twp. and a 8th Degree Black Belt of Tang Soo Do-Moo Duk Kwan. Master Kim has been training and teaching martial arts since the age of 9 in his native South Korea, where he served in the military and taught martial arts from 1976 to 1979. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1982, he opened the Yi's Karate Institute the following year and has been teaching and helping to promote hundreds of students to Black Belts ever since. Master Kim strives to teach his students more than just martial arts. His lessons focus on how to use Tang Soo Do to stop violence, as well as how it can help to guide their lives in healthier and happier directions. His high standards and unique talent for motivating students of all ages have earned him the respect and admiration of the hundreds of students he has promoted to Black Belts over the years. He is also the Executive Vice President of the International Martial Arts Association. Master C.S. Kim currently lives in Cherry Hill, NJ with his wife and three daughters. Through his 30 years of teaching and spreading knowledge and love of the martial arts to this South Jersey community, he continues to be an inspirational and positive influence on the lives of his students.
