They are the Gymnastics Gurus of Jersey and they are just as extraordinary as they sound! Their leader, the ever-energetic Flip Flop, was a boy who could do backflips before he could even walk. With a giggle that echoes through the valleys, bouncy bushy hair that could put a trampoline to shame, and a spark in his eyes brighter than the lighthouse at Cape May, Flip Flop led his team with infectious enthusiasm. These kids, you see, weren't just any ordinary children. No, sir! They somersaulted to school, cartwheeled through the cornfields, and pirouetted in the parks. Their idea of fun was spinning around on parallel bars or balancing on beams narrower than their school pencils! Gymnastics wasn't just an activity for them; it was a way of life. The Garden State had never seen a funnier, happier bunch of kids. They would often chuckle as they whizzed past the Jersey Devil, their laughter echoing through the Pine Barrens. Even the traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike would slow just to catch a glimpse of their acrobatics. So, if you ever find yourself in New Jersey, keep an eye out for these marvelously zany kids. You'll know them by their flipping, spinning, and lopsided grins that stretch from Sandy Hook to the Delaware Water Gap. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
