About Allegra School of Music and Arts in Hillsborough, NJ
At Allegra School of Music and Arts, we understand the importance of providing quality music and acting lessons for children and adults. Our experienced team of music teachers and artistic directors have been providing private instruction in piano, guitar, violin, voice, drums, trumpet, and saxophone since 1999. We believe in tailoring our lessons to fit the individual needs of each student. Our acting workshops offer something for everyone, from our acting troupe for children to our renowned summer musical theater camps. We also offer an engaging teen acting troupe and a fun rock band for those looking for a more creative learning experience. We strive to create a positive learning environment and to ensure that our students of all ages, from 5 to 60+, have a rewarding experience.

Summer Theater Camps
Allegra is an Exceptional Ensemble Experience, Offering Award-Winning Musical Theater Camps Since 1999! What makes the Allegra Summer theater camp experience exceptional is the inclusion and care that we have consistently demonstrated for each and every camper. Whether your camper is new to Allegra or has participated over the years, each Allegra camper understands that their unique talents, abilities, personal characteristics, and differences are not only welcomed but celebrated and key to the makeup of our exceptional ensembles and production teams. Our camps build confidence, collaboration skills, and most importantly great friendships and memories. Each session offers the opportunity for our young performers to work with kind, caring, and distinguished performance artists and experienced educators to build a complete show from the ground up in a fun summer camp setting!

Acting Workshops
Allegra offers fun, engaging, and comprehensive acting workshops that challenge young actors to discover more about the craft and themselves. Actors with ALL levels of experience are welcome to join us in an exploration of character building, vocal and physical stage presence, improvisation, and so much more. The work done in our acting workshops helps students develop their social skills and gives a boost to their self-confidence.

Dance for Actors
Allegra's new dance class provides a safe, judgment-free, fun, and friendly dance experience designed to boost confidence and dancing ability for ages 10 - 18 years. Allegra introduces Miss Amy Schroeder from our summer musical theater team for a new dance offering this September! This class is targeted to the performer who wants a non-dance studio environment to learn theater movement and dance with friends. Together we will learn musical theater dance techniques and routines from our favorite Broadway musicals from the golden age to HAMILTON.

The Rock Band Workshop
The Rock Band Workshop provides an ensemble experience that gives intermediate and advanced musicians the opportunity to collaborate creatively with each other through rock and its connections to jazz, blues, and pop. This class is the natural progression from private lessons as it gives performers experience playing in an ensemble setting. Rock Band fine tunes musicianship, listening skills, sight reading, and playing, and introduces students to different genres. Rock Band allows students to let loose and play the music that they hear on the radio. Past semesters have included music from Coldplay, Green Day, The Killers, Twenty-One Pilots, Adele, Nina Simone, and many more!
