About AFFA - Advance Fencing & Fitness Academy in Garwood, NJ
At AFFA our mission is to provide the highest level of instruction in a positive learning environment for students of all skill levels and to encourage their growth as a fencer and as a person. Teaching first hand the benefits of hard work, self-motivation, perseverance and the value of sportsmanship through the sport of fencing. If you are interested in learning more about selection of beginner, intermediate, and advanced fencing classes or to book private fencing lessons, we welcome you to contact our local fencing club today! We are located in Garwood, NJ and our instructors are proud to teach students throughout Westfield, Cranford, Watchung, Berkley Heights, Summit, Chatham, Scotch Plains, Livingston, Short Hills, Milburn, NJ, and the surrounding communities.

BeAKid
INTRO TO FENCING
These introductory classes are ideal for children with very little to no previous fencing experience. This package will contain 4 intro classes and 3 private lessons. It teaches kids the basic positions and rules while stressing a fun atmosphere and teaching sportsmanship, discipline and work ethic. Our goal is to introduce all necessary fundamentals to not only build a strong fencing foundation but to build the love for the sport.

BEGINNER LEVEL
Beginner classes are ideal for children following our Intro Classes and meet four times per week. This class will reinforce the basic positions and rules stressing a fun atmosphere while teaching sportsmanship, discipline and work ethic. Our goal continues to not only build a strong fencing foundation but introducing fencing tactics and the love for the sport.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
Classes meet four times per week and are open to children with a basic grasp and understanding of the sport and technique. Intermediate students are introduced to more technical training and deeper strategic thinking in regards to the sport. These classes build upon the basic fundamentals initially cemented in beginner classes. These fencers are provided a class improve understanding, coordination, and tactical thinking. All of which are applied at all levels of competition.
