Training Studio

At our dojo, we emphasize a traditional curriculum that includes basics, kata, and kumite. Each student must earn their rank and there are no guarantees of achieving a certain belt. We believe in hard work and dedication to reach the ultimate goal. Additionally, our training incorporates aspects from Judo and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, to create a well-rounded program. 

The dojo is proud to be part of a lineage of Master Don Nagle, one of the greatest American Martial Artists. We are committed to upholding the spirit of Master Nagle and strive to learn from each other. Our dojo emphasizes that the study of Karate is a journey, without a definite destination. We must be willing to work hard and be dedicated to reach our goals.

Our programs include Adults (13 and up), Kids (7 -12) and Little Dragons (3-6). We offer group self defense seminars upon request. We do not require contracts nor take attendance. There are no hidden fees at this dojo. Meaning no missed class fee, charges for 'special' test prep classes or Black Belt clubs.

We looked for a proper dojo for a long time. There were a number of black belt mills but no good traditional martial arts schools.  Then, one day, I saw someone wearing an Isshinryu Karate Academy shirt in the post office.  I was intrigued since this was the style I had studied as a youngster.  I knew from the first day of class that this would be our home, and it has been for the past four years.  Tradition and discipline are important to Sensei Mike and the other sensei.  This is the place to go if you want the real thing.
