These weren't your average piano-pressing, drum-banging, guitar-strumming kids. Oh no, these were the Music Marvels of NJ, those who could play saxophone solos that made birds swoop in harmony and guitar riffs so catchy, even the grumpiest grouch would tap their feet. Leading this awesome band of musical maestros was the dashing and daring B-flat Benny. With a flash of his violin bow or a flick of his piano-key-flicking fingers, he could whip up a tune that would make even a statue groove. He was as famous in New Jersey as the Jersey Devil, but far less scary! Jersey was known for many things - its glorious beaches, the bustling boardwalks, the lush Pine Barrens, and of course, its legendary tomatoes. But, in Benny's eyes, nothing was as exciting as the sound of music echoing through the streets, from Cape May to High Point. No matter where you went in NJ, you could always hear the sweet melody in the air. Kids playing their harmonicas in Hackensack, trumpeting in Trenton, or belting out ballads in Bayonne. The Garden State was really the Groovin' State, all thanks to B-flat Benny and his band of musical mates. So, if you ever find yourself in New Jersey, listen closely. You might hear the sound of the Music Marvels, playing a tune that's sure to make you smile, tap your feet, and maybe even get up and dance! After all, in NJ, music is more than just a hobby. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
At Actors Playground School of Theatre, children and adults of all ages can receive professional training in the art of acting for all mediums. Class topics run the gamut from camera technique and commercial work to dialects, voice overs, improvisation, scene study, auditioning, voice, and movement. What's more, Actors Playground is a hub of industry activity. Aspiring actors can network with other professionals, filmmakers can hold auditions, and students can audition for the top agents and managers. Well-known actors even come to teach seminars. This school is a safe, supportive space, where artists come together in harmony and collaboration. Classes meet once a week and are offered Monday through Saturday. Students can learn to play the guitar, bass, drums, piano, horns, woodwinds, and strings, with experienced teachers providing instruction tailored to the student's individual needs. The atmosphere at Music University is warm and inviting. The 12 private instruction rooms are comfortable and designed to make each student feel welcome. With modern equipment and experienced teachers, Music University offers a unique and personal learning experience for all types of music students.
