With a world-class faculty and unique theme-based curricula, Arete Art Academy strives to enrich students with a broad range of fine art principles, media, and techniques. We offer group art classes for all ages, starting from preschoolers to adults. Private lessons are also available for those interested in further developing specific techniques or fulfilling a portfolio requirement. BeAKid
ART: AGES 6-9
Through developmentally and age-appropriate curricula, students of this age group learn to create and express themselves through a variety of art media, including collage, painting, drawing, printmaking, textiles, and more. All classes focus on developing motor skills, visual-spatial skills, problem-solving skills, cultural awareness, creativity, decision making, and more.
All classes for age 6-9 are 60-minute in length, unless specified otherwise. Classes meet once a week. Please see the Art Class Schedule for specific themes and projects.

ART: Ages 4-5
Through age-appropriate themes and projects, students of age 4-5 explore a variety of art materials and techniques in a fun, exploratory and safe environment at Arete Art Academy. All classes are designed to help children develop their motor skills, visual-spatial skills, problem-solving skills, cultural awareness, decision making, and more.

Art Therapy
One-on-one Lessons:
Art invites teens to create order and structure during a period of changes and transition. This class is designed to acknowledge the unique experiences and perspectives of each individual through visual representation (art-making), reflections (journaling) and group discussions (sharing).
Students will engage in art therapy-based projects designed to improve on skills such as self-awareness, self-esteem, and connecting with others. Students will have the opportunity to utilize the metaphors and themes in their artwork to express feelings, explore conflicts, and embrace their strengths.
