About AHA Dance

Amber Hemmer's Academy of Dance aka "AHA!" is celebrating it's EIGHTEENTH season. After opening in the Fall of 2005, the studio continues to grow. Conveniently located on Route 23 in Cedar Grove, the studio draws students from Cedar Grove, Verona, The Caldwells, Montclair, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, and more. Students can take classes in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and/or Tumbling. The studio director was featured in Dance Studio Life Magazine and helped break a Guiness World Record on Live with Kelly and Ryan Fall 2019. Last year, students participated in performances at Verona High School. Students are afforded the opportunity to attend various workshops with master instructors through Miss Amber's affiliation with Associated Dance Teachers of NJ and Dance Educators of America. Ballet
Ballet technique and terminology is introduced as these classes help students develop body tone, grace, balance, and agility. Ballet provides the necessary technique and discipline to excel in all dance forms! Pointe classes are offered to eligible students.

Lyrical/Choreography
Students learn jazz terminology and technique while developing body control, flexibility, style, and improvisation. Jazz classes incorporate different styles including traditional, musical comedy, and the ever-so-popular hip-hop. Jazz classes are always the most up-to-date form of dance to study because jazz style is constantly changing!

Tumbling
Classes incorporate floor acrobatics, combinations, and choreography. Students develop strength and increase flexibility while learning to maintain body control, and properly execute tumbling skills. These classes offer great exercises for students to stay fit!
