Inspired by Nature Ages 6 - 10

Throughout history, artists have drawn inspiration from nature. We will learn about famous artists that approached it in new and interesting ways. Students will also have the opportunity to paint hive boxes for a local beekeeper and learn about the role that art plays in highlighting our responsibilities to our environment. Color, line, shape, and composition will be reviewed to create our paintings, sculptures, drawings, and collages. Every project will use different materials and techniques, as we practice our foundation skills.

SCHOOLS ART PROGRAMS

School art enrichment programs are offered in 6 - 12 week sessions and are tailored to meet the needs of the curriculum or grant requirements. Village Arts has developed a strong portfolio of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) projects that combine visual arts with opportunities for development of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision making, and relationship skills. We offer a variety of mediums in each session to encourage exploration of materials. Cultural projects are included to expose students to the world beyond their schools as well as to create an environment of respect and inclusivity within them. Art history influences are highlighted to create a stronger understanding of how art evolved and shaped our society.
