Enna M10/25/20225""Since joining Aikido our son’s self-confidence has blossomed in an impressive way. We see the results of this new confidence in his school and family participation, and in his general happiness level. Aikido offers a physical outlet AND a positive experience with community and collaboration without the stress of team sports and competition. It’s a great option for a child with anxiety or aversion to team sports."
Ericka P10/25/20225"The Tanuki Kids program has boosted our son's listening skills and ability to concentrate on one task. The testing process for his yellow belt taught him how to work hard for something he really wants. We practiced together every morning before school and every night before bed to help prepare him for his first test. When he got his yellow belt, he discovered how good it feels to achieve something he worked hard for. "
Charles D10/25/20225"The children's classes at the dojo are excellent. Since most of the practice is done with students working in pairs, Sensei Aaron has a great rapport with all of the children, and the children are constantly cooperatively and actively involved. Since the dojo is non-profit, there isn't any pressure to buy additional items, pay for belt ceremonies, or engage in other up-sell practices that our family with three children has encountered at some for-profit dojos in other traditions. This dojo is amazing in every way!"
Michael W10/25/20225"Portsmouth Aikido's instruction and experiences have consistently left us in awe. They have used inventiveness to maintain the ability to teach while protecting the students from the pandemic. I have no qualms about recommending Portsmouth Aikido to anyone who is considering martial arts. "
Doug K10/25/20225"Portsmouth Aikido is an excellent place to train and learn the art. The instructors are enthusiastic about teaching others and Aikido. I discovered the club members to be friendly, encouraging, and patient as a new member and beginner in the art. Numerous days a week of training are provided, and membership is inexpensive. If you're thinking about beginning or continuing your martial arts training, I highly suggest Portsmouth Aikido. You can watch a class there or sign up for one of the regularly scheduled beginner classes. "
