At YMCA Camp Coniston, we strive to create a safe and supportive environment where your child can flourish. Our campers have the opportunity to try new activities and experiences for the first time, from archery to swimming, and even being away from home. All of these activities help to give your child the skills they need to become a resilient, self-sufficient person, ready to take on the challenges of adolescence.
We understand that choosing the right camp for your child can be a difficult decision. Our website provides all the information you need to make the best decision for them. But most of all, we want you to remember that while people come to Camp Coniston for the exciting activities, they come back for the love and friendship they found here.
Offering youth ages 12-15, the opportunity to have exciting adventures in spectacular locations during trips throughout New England and Canada. These trips focus on climbing, hiking, white water rafting, sailing and biking.

THE CONISTON CIT PROGRAM
The Coniston Camper-In-Training (CIT) program is a long-standing Camp tradition, and the majority of our senior campers apply for this special teen leadership program when they age-out of Camp.
The CIT program is for campers who have turned 16 years old by June 24th of their eligible summer. The program’s focus is on personal leadership and development — the first step in the Camps leadership training series.

LIT PROGRAM
The Coniston Leader-In-Training (LIT) program is the second phase of Coniston’s Leadership Program and a majority of our Campers-In-Training (CITs) apply after completing their CIT summer. There are 20 girl LIT spots and 16 boy LIT spots available each summer. Unlike the CIT program the LIT program is a paid position with YMCA Camp Coniston. Because campers are transitioning from camper to staff member there are many new parts of his/her Coniston experience. LIT staff have the honor to join a long line of staff members that change the lives of numerous campers every summer.
