Creative Dance and Ballet with Jenny Foster Ages: 5-8

Come dance for the joy of it! In this class, students will learn and explore different elements of dance each week. Emphasis is on the joy of moving to music and rhythm as well as an introduction to ballet. We will spend plenty of time exploring the rich language of dance through guided improvisational and creative exercises, inspired by stories, songs, instruments, music, poems, and art. The goals for the class are that the children move their bodies with joy, discover new ways to express themselves through movement, and experience the beauty and power of dance in a positive and supportive environment. We will share our progress through a couple of in-studio performances for our families and friends in the Winter and the Spring.

The expression of our young adult community is so important in today's climate, their inherent skills and unique perspectives should be fostered and nurtured in art environments which celebrate diverse and innovative modes of expression. Each participant, will be given individual attention and a chance to grow their interests in a rich and informed setting! A collaborative community art project will be designed by participants for debut in early Summer 2022. There is no cost for attendance or materials. All we ask for is a commitment to regular attendance because of the collaborative nature of many of the art projects.
