About Morning Star Ballet & Performing Arts

At Heartland Conservatory of Dance, we strive to foster a creative, healthy, and safe environment where students can confidently express themselves through movement. Our experienced faculty provide individualized attention and guidance to each student, while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere. We also offer many performance opportunities including our annual productions and community events, allowing students to showcase their hard work and dedication. At Heartland Conservatory of Dance, we believe that dance is a form of self-expression that should be embraced and enjoyed. We provide our students with quality training and diverse performance opportunities to help them reach their fullest potential. Our faculty are committed to helping each student develop their skills and find their own unique way of expressing themselves through dance. We strive to create an environment that encourages creativity, self-confidence, and respect for all forms of dance.

Pre-Primary Ballet
The Pre-School Ballet or Tap class will begin to introduce the child to the structure of a dance class. The child will continue to develop listening skills, strength, balance, turning and coordination.

Primary I Ballet
This class serves as an introduction to formal ballet instruction. Students will begin to build a foundation for ballet technique. Exercises will promote correct posture, basic ballet technique, and flexibility while continuing to develop gross motor skills, balance and strength. Children also begin to learn French ballet vocabulary and proper ballet etiquette.

primary levels
The primary levels are the most important as this division includes the beginning levels for learning ballet technique. All students begin their training in level 1 where they will learn the basic ballet positions, the progression of a ballet barre and the French vocabulary which defines all ballet steps.
