Meet our hero, Captain Kernal Cobsworth, a twelve-year-old boy with a heart as broad as the Platte River, which flows through the heart of Nebraska. Kernal, you see, got his name because he loves corn, but more than corn, he loves canoeing. And even more than canoeing, he loves cracking corn puns that are so corny, they could grow in a field! Each summer, Captain Kernal Cobsworth gathers a team of brave young Nebraskans, fondly known as the "Kernel Krew," for thrilling canoeing adventures. With their paddles slicing through the sparkling waters like butter knives through creamed corn, they explore Nebraska's rivers and lakes in ways few kids do. The Krew is fearless, with a sense of humor as contagious as a kernel pop in a popcorn machine.
