Sewing is a wonderful hobby that many parents may not be aware of for their children. That being said, one local Waxhaw mom has been teaching the craft for over a decade. After starting out in her bonus room in her home, she opened Thimble Bee, a storefront off Providence in 2014. She has been blessed to meet so many wonderful families in the Charlotte area and hopes that those who come to Thimble Bee find it to be a safe and comfortable place to learn and grow in their skill. 

This mom of Waxhaw fell in love with sewing when she was fourteen and has been passionate about it ever since. After thirteen years of teaching, she now has the privilege of having a storefront off Providence in Charlotte. Her students have come from far and wide, and she is so grateful for the relationships she has built with them. She loves to see her students progress and hopes that Thimble Bee provides the perfect environment for them to learn and grow in their skills.

Do you have a child wanting to learn to sew? Join us for the "Learn To Sew Series". Students will attend class once a week for one-hour sessions. Students will complete a total of six classes focused on sewing basics. Upon completion students are ready to enter one of our ongoing weekly classes such as Fashion Kids + Teens, Sewing Is Art or Quilting Fun.

Learn To Sew Series

Sewing Is Art focuses on FUN through learning a skill and being proud that the child has created something from a piece of fabric and thread. Students will be introduced to the basics but also have the creative opportunity in their projects. This class is ideal for younger students who aren't quite ready for the structure of a more instructional-based class but who have an interest in exploring what sewing is all about!

Sewing Is Art

Sewing Refresher: a mini-lesson held 45 min prior to the workshop for NEW students or students who haven't attended Thimble Bees in the past six months. This mini-lesson will incorporate various sewing exercises that will help prepare your child for the workshop.
