Vicky S08/23/20225North Carolina's Lutherock is a fantastic location for sharing the beauty of God's creation. My group of eighth graders was led by counselors on hikes, zip lines, ropes courses, campfires, off-site caving, rafting, and visits to Grandfather's Mountain. The camp is well-kept and has staff members that are knowledgeable, entertaining, kind, and who model Christian leadership. My pupils experienced fresh outdoor adventures every day, and the days always ended with campfires, s'mores, singing, private meditations, and devotions. We anticipate going back every year.
Collen V08/23/20225Wonderful location for a spiritual retreat. Beautiful hiking, rock climbing, and wildlife-viewing trails (deer, bear, owls, etc.). The lodges have also undergone extensive renovations and maintenance. Basketball, a heated covered picnic area, a sizable industrial kitchen, a gaga ball pit, a large meeting room, and 2 additional rooms with numerous bunk beds and baths are all available at Founders Lodge. This is a unique location to strengthen your faith and find inspiration.
Anne J08/23/20225My kids attended this camp for the first time this year, and we will definitely return. This was a very nice change of scenery for me, coming from South Florida, and my kids had never experienced anything like it. The activities kept them busy and involved, the counselors developed strong relationships with them, there was a plenty of food to eat (better food than typical camp cuisine), and Missy, the new director, was an amazing delight. I had the option to decide how much or how little I wanted to participate in day-to-day activities as a parent. After all, occasionally it is just a treat to hang out at the Crow's Nest with the other grownups and deepen our own bonds.
