Through their outreach projects, performances, educational programs, and community development initiatives, HMF is able to provide music to individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life. The organization offers a wide variety of music programs for both children and adults, and provides access to instruments, instruction, and technology. HMF has been successful in creating a musical environment that is open to all, and has seen a positive impact on the community. Through their work, HMF has been able to bring music to the hearts of many, and increase appreciation of the art in the community. Programs at Hickory Music Factory in Hickory, NC
BeAKid
Scholarships
The Hickory Music Factory offers a limited number of scholarships to students each year. Applicants are assessed through written applications by the HMF board of directors. Funding for scholarships are made possible through private donations that help provide lessons and programs to youth in the community who may not have the means to do so.

Percussion 101
Learn and experience all areas of concert percussion ranging from keyboard percussion, timpani, snare and more. Rick Cline has 35 years of experience and will teach proper technique for each instrument. A percussion ensemble will be formed within the week long session allowing participants to rotate around to all the major areas of percussion.

Pandemonium
The Pandemonium Steel Drum Band under the direction of Rick Cline is a semester-long ensemble. Pandemonium performs locally at festivals and schools. Participation depends on availability of instruments and the ability to read music.
BeAKid
Jazz Combo
The Hickory Music Factory Jazz Combo under the direction of Rick Hefner, is a semester-long ensemble. The ensemble focuses on the study of the jazz art form, how to improvise, music theory, and playing in a group. The ensemble is for intermediate to advanced students. Students will be expected to be able to sight read music and have a basic understanding of chord theory.

Mozart Kids Preschool Class
An age-appropriate and sequential curriculum that introduces children to the joy of music and effectively guides them toward lifelong participation in music. Mozart Kids explore the different elements of music such as rhythm, melody, dynamics, and tempo. They will discover music by singing, clapping, playing games, and playing rhythm instruments.
