About Camp Pinnacle

At Camp Pinnacle, we believe that summer camp should be about more than just having fun. We strive for our Great 8 Outcomes to be learned through adventure, immersion in a close-knit and tech-free community, and interaction with outstanding role models. Studies have shown that experiences like Camp Pinnacle make children’s brains inherently more receptive to learning. Our campers benefit from engaging activities that emphasize life skills and encourage the development of 21st century skills. We focus on helping campers build confidence, resilience, and empathy while developing teamwork and problem solving. We provide an environment where campers can feel safe, make friends, and take risks in a supportive and encouraging setting.

Girls' Camp

Rather than live up to an image defined by social media, we find that at Camp Pinnacle, girls appreciate the break from texting and Instagram. They quickly learn to love the simplicity of life outdoors and the joys of face-to-face companionship and friendships. Finding success without digital media helps girls better define how technology can fit into their world, rather than feeling the need to fit themselves into our technological world. We all need help raising our girls to become strong, independent, confident and empowered women. We think Camp Pinnacle is the perfect summer place for girls.

Boys’ Camp

The program for boys at Camp Pinnacle begins with a friendly, welcoming, and electronic-free environment. Boys tend to fear public failure or embarrassment, so our program uses fun to entice them to try and eventually excel at new activities. Our counselors epitomize both “kind” and “cool” and are able to support and encourage boys as they accept new challenges. Success beyond expectations coupled with newfound skills develops and improves perceived competence. Increased competence builds self-confidence. We emphasize and demonstrate that success is derived from hard work rather than innate talent or luck.

Off-Camp Adventures

We would be remiss not to venture out and explore the scenic beauty and bio-diverse splendor of western North Carolina. All campers participate in age- and skill-appropriate day and/or overnight trips, which increase in challenge as campers return to Camp Pinnacle each summer. Our Off-Camp Adventures give kids the opportunity for outdoor experiences that set a tone for a lifetime of adventure and strong connection to nature.
