About Cape Fear Studios

At Cape Fear Studios, Inc. (CFS), we are dedicated to providing quality art experiences and educational opportunities to the Cumberland County and surrounding communities. Located in historic downtown Fayetteville, our mission is to involve, educate, and enrich the area with the opportunity to create and freely view art. Our main gallery and retail gallery are filled with beautiful artwork from local, national, and international artists. We offer a wide selection of paintings, photographs, sculptures, pottery, wood and glass art, and fine jewelry. We invite you to come and explore our versatility and variety. CFS provides the community with free access to quality exhibits, as well as educational opportunities through workshops, classes, and mentoring. We hope you will join us and explore the creative possibilities that abound at Cape Fear Studios.

Expressive Painting Landscape & Still Life
Oil, Acrylic, or Pastel: Some painting experience is preferred. Participants provide their own painting supplies. Tabletop easels are available for use. Some references will be available, bringing your own is encouraged as well. We will study how to create expressive paintings through the exploration of composition, value, color mixing, color harmony, brush handling, and manipulation of edges between passages.
