Meghan L07/18/20225Because it was an outside activity and we liked that it was an opportunity for Lucy to make friends, we decided to enroll her in Cedarwood's Forest Day program. We appreciate Lucy having the opportunity to thoroughly explore the paths at Reedy Creek Nature Preserve. She observes and draws attention to aspects of nature that her peers would not have seen on their own. She has experienced the seasonal changes firsthand and has had the opportunity to watch the woods transform throughout the course of the year. Lucy's weekly hikes have given her more self-assurance in her physical prowess. She also developed strong bonds with her Forest Day classmates and teacher.
Monique U04/20/20225We chose Cedarwood for our son because we wanted him to study in a setting that was organic and free from artificiality. We desired a setting wherein a close-knit community of kids and adults who work, play, and learn together would value and respect our son's uniqueness and inventiveness. Our son has the freedom and involvement he needs to grow in Cedarwood's absolutely exceptional outdoor school. Last but not least, we wanted our son to enjoy learning about all the novel and fascinating things the world has to offer. At Cedarwood, our son is free to pursue his own interests. Irina successfully finds a balance between each child's uniqueness and the principles of a learning community.
