At Cedarwood, we are proud to foster an atmosphere in which each child feels valued, accepted, and respected. We strive to provide a learning environment where children can explore their interests and discover new ones. In this supportive atmosphere, our students can build their unique skills and develop their talents. We are confident that our students will benefit from the educational experience we provide and will develop into confident, independent learners.
The goal of our programs for 3-and 4-year-olds is to provide children with opportunities to creatively explore developmentally appropriate arts, science, language, and mathematics by painting, gluing, building, engaging in a variety of games, learning songs, dancing and reading books. The most exciting part of the program is that the children are exposed to all of the classes that older children undertake and are included when they show interest. Our classes are primarily held outdoors, in our forest classroom space. Consecutive days are recommended, although families are free to enroll their child in any combination of days.
After School Enrichment Classes
All children attending afterschool classes are required to sign a behavior contract. The class facilitators will provide their contracts before classes begin. Not following through with the contract will result in loosing a spot in the class. Afterschool classes are interest-based projects. If a child needs to do something else as opposed to participate in the class, there is no point in having them be in class as they unnecessarily take time away from others while struggling.
Summer camp at Cedarwood Academy is a unique outdoor experience full of backyard summer fun in the natural world. Participants can look forward to hands-on activities, forest and water play, arts and crafts, and a variety of learning experiences. Daily activities may include: water play (balloons/sprinklers, small pools), STEM activities, sports, bike riding, painting/sculpting, cooking and more.
