About Blue Dolphins Aquatics in Chapel Hill, NC
Our goal is to help children and adults learn to swim, gain confidence in the water, and develop a lifelong love of the water. At our aquatic programs, we strive to provide a fun and safe learning environment for our students. Our mission is to spread the joy of swimming by providing inclusive, unique and inspiring programs, designed to teach lifelong skills. We offer private, semi-private and family swim lessons for a variety of ages and abilities in Chapel Hill, Chatham, Durham and now Morrisville, as well as a swim team program and certification classes. Our goal is to nurture a lifelong love of the water in our students, helping them gain confidence in the water and learn essential swimming skills. We focus on providing a student-centered experience, as we strive to make learning to swim an enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone.

BeAKid
INFANT/TODDLER SWIM LESSONS
We love teaching babies and toddlers to swim! These classes are for infant (6 months and older who have good head control) through 3 years old. Our instructors are trained in gentle methods to allow them to connect with students, build trust, and teach at a challenging but appropriate pace for each child. We believe skills are best learned and retained when a child feels safe, so our instructors are trained to tune into body language and cues from your child to keep lessons progressing and fun.

Private and Family Lessons
A private lesson is for a single student. Nearly every student will learn quickly and well in this environment. A family lesson is for a family unit. No more than three participants from the family may swim together at once. For family lessons at Homestead Aquatic Center, BDA is limited to two participants in the water at a time (whether child or parent). Exceptions can sometimes be made if the lesson is during the school year on a weekday before 3pm.

SWIM TEAM
Our main BDA Swim Team program runs from Sept to May with practice at Homestead Aquatic Center, Chapel Hill Community Center, Campus Hills and Edison Johnson Aquatic Center. Our mission is to provide an inclusive, unique and inspiring aquatic program for members of the community. We believe in running a swim team program that is based on the fundamentals of swimming with an emphasis on creating a positive learning environment through a fun and safe atmosphere. Our four core values for swim team practice are technique work, speed/endurance work, character development and having fun.
