Mary P07/13/20225We had a great day at the Ackland Art Museum. The fact that the founding patron is buried there and his mound is on show is a very first for me. He left money in his will to fund the establishment of the museum. There are paintings, statues, pottery, and other art forms on show. Wandering around and reading the descriptions was really interesting. If information about the artist was known, it was frequently included. To the left of the first level, at the back, are the restrooms. Parking is available on the street.
Juvie S07/04/20225a lovely art gallery with a wide range of displays. A short distance from TOPO. Entrance was free. The upper level was locked. They informed us that it is only open during the academic year.
Annie L08/16/20225Beautiful museum with excellent artwork located in the center of Chapel Hill. Free admission is a good thing. Pleasant location to visit with the whole family
Danny R07/05/20225I always try to stop by museums when I travel, so I had to come here. a wonderful collection of both modern and historical works of art.
Cathy F06/16/20225Ackland Museum is a gallery that is situated in Chapel Hill's center. Although the museum is small, I adore the collections. In each of my three visits to this museum, I saw a different collection. The staff is friendly and supportive. The opening day of Yayoi Kusama's show was when I last visited. I was unable to see much of her work, but I was able to appreciate some of her unique creations.
