About Ackland Art Museum at UNC-Chapel Hill

At the Ackland Museum, we offer a variety of programs and resources to help parents and children explore and engage with our diverse collections and special exhibitions. With art from around the globe, the Ackland provides a unique opportunity for learners of all ages to research, enjoy, and be inspired by works of art. K-12 classes from Chapel Hill and across the area frequently take part in lively learning experiences with original works of art. By taking the time to carefully study and respond creatively to art from around the world, teachers and students can make meaningful connections with the school curriculum while also stimulating new ways of thinking.

K-12 GUIDED TOURS
At the Ackland, we design immersive and engaging guided experiences with art from our exhibitions and collection, in addition to thematic tours. Tours are always planned with your grade level and learning goals in mind and help students “look close and think far.”
