About NC Glass Center in Asheville, NC
We are excited to share that NCGC is expanding to a brand-new location - a state-of-the-art hot shop, flame shop, and gallery located in beautiful Black Mountain, North Carolina. This new studio is just a 20-minute drive away from our current location in the River Arts District, and it will be able to accommodate our ever-growing roster of artists and students. The estimated completion date of the Black Mountain site is early 2024. NCGC is dedicated to providing the highest quality glass art instruction and equipment available. Our current River Arts District location is running at capacity and will continue to offer classes, equipment rentals, and retail space. Our new Black Mountain location will be the perfect addition to our already successful studio, allowing us to reach even more aspiring glass artists and expand our reach.

BeAKid
Fun With Fusing Ages 8+
Spend a fun-filled hour in our flame shop with an experienced instructor to guide you through the steps of making your own fused glass tile. You'll craft one tile during the 50-minute experience. Have a blast choosing colors, cutting shapes and designing your tile. This is a great activity for families, couples and small groups of up to 4 people. Ages 8-12 must have an adult present. No experience needed.

Hot Shop: 30 Minute Make Your Own Ages 13+
Receive a guided experience to create your own glass keepsakes in our “hotshop” or glassblowing studio. In this hands-on class, you will work one-on-one with an experienced instructor to create a unique piece of glass art. Choose between crafting a paperweight, ornament, or drinking glass, then customize your piece with your choice of two colors. Learn the basics of glassblowing, and feel free to ask questions as your instructor assists you during the entire process! All levels welcome.

Glass Bead Basics Ages 11+
Students will focus on the safe use of tools and equipment before moving on to bead basics. You’ll create several simple bead shapes enhanced with a variety of surface decoration techniques including dots and stringers. Expect to make between 4 and 6 beads per class.
