In addition, members benefit from a variety of educational opportunities, including workshops, art shows, and classes for people of all ages.  Membership fees are low and accessible to all.

The Swartz Creek Area Art Guild is a nonprofit organization devoted to the promotion of the visual arts. Founded in 2010, the guild is open to all fine art and fine craft artists. The primary requirement for membership is a shared love and appreciation for the arts. The guild operates the Swartz Creek Art Gallery, which provides an outlet for members to display and sell their work. Through art shows, weekly classes, and workshops, the guild provides a variety of educational opportunities for members and nonmembers alike.

Location: Swartz Creek United Methodist Church
Beginners are welcome. No commitment is required. All classes are "drop-in."
Supplies: Students supply their own canvas, paint, brushes, and an image (picture) of what they would like to paint. Masks are required at this time.

Classes will be capped at 16 students each.

Students will learn a variety of art skills in this weekly series that is offered specifically for homeschooled students in grades 1-8. It will run weely for the duration of the school year. Registration is required.

Art Classes for Homeschoolers

This class will introduce students to building with clay. The focus will be on hand-building techniques: pinch, coil, and slabs. Functional as well as sculptural applications will be explored. Students will be introduced to the craft of wheel-thrown pottery on a limited basis. Various glaze and decorations for finishing work will be introduced in class as well.
