The Swartz Creek Area Art Guild is a nonprofit organization devoted to the promotion of the visual arts. Founded in 2010, the guild is open to all fine art and fine craft artists. The guild operates the Swartz Creek Art Gallery, which provides an outlet for members to display and sell their work. Acrylic Painting Tuesdays mornings 9:00am to 12:00pm (or 9:00am to 10:30am -- student choice) Location: Swartz Creek United Methodist Church Beginners are welcome. No commitment is required. All classes are "drop-in." Supplies: Students supply their own canvas, paint, brushes, and an image (picture) of what they would like to paint. Masks are required at this time. Art Classes for Homeschoolers

Wednesdays, beginning October 13th Ainsworth Baptist Church 10:00-11:30 - Grades 1 - 4 12:00-1:30 - Grades 5 -8 Classes will be capped at 16 students each. ​ Instructor: Susan Hagen Students will learn a variety of art skills in this weekly series that is offered specifically for homeschooled students in grades 1-8. It will run weely for the duration of the school year. Registration is required. ​ For ease of registration, please call or text your child(ren)'s name, grade, your phone number and your email. Ceramics & Pottery Class

This class will introduce students to building with clay. The focus will be on hand-building techniques: pinch, coil, and slabs. Functional as well as sculptural applications will be explored. Students will be introduced to the craft of wheel-thrown pottery on a limited basis. Various glaze and decorations for finishing work will be introduced in class as well.
