Programs at South Lyon Area Recreation Authority in South Lyon, MI

Aquatics
South Lyon Area Recreation Authority offers a variety of Aquatics programs. The water temperature at the South Lyon High School Pool is typically kept between 81-84 degrees. School District policy requires everyone to shower before entering the pool. If a class is canceled due to weather, mechanical failure or other unexpected problems, an effort will be made to schedule a make-up class is the schedule allows. If it is not possible to provide a make-up class, no partial refunds will be given. Starting the week of March 6 all Aquatic programs will be held at South Lyon EAST High School.

Island Lake Kids Kamp
Kamp History SLARA Island Lake Kids Kamp began in the summer of 2010 with just over 173 kids visiting throughout the summer. The camp takes place at Island Lake Recreation Area. We are a state certified summer camp. Our staff provides children with educational programs, fitness, sports and environmental activities to keep them busy all day! The camp also features field trips throughout the summer to some of the most fun places around! This is a program your kids will want to come back to each summer. The camp is offered for kids ages 5 to 12. 2023 Camp hours will be 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with extended care hours.

National Flag Football is a flag football league open to both beginner and experienced players. Our convenient one-day-a-week schedule makes the game of flag football the perfect sport for players and parents. Teams are formed by grade, school, and buddy requests.
