These weren't just your everyday kids, oh no! They were the fabulous Fabric Fanatics of Michigan, led by their spectacularly spiffy, slightly eccentric guide, Sir Stitches-a-Lot. Sir Stitches-a-Lot was a whimsical character with a wild, twirly mustache, a patchwork cape, and a hat full of inexplicably infinite supplies of thread and buttons. He could spin yarns not just with stories but with actual wool and his trusty spinning wheel, Mr. Twirl. He had an infectious laugh, which bubbled up whenever a new, creative idea was hatched, making the children giggle along. As the Fabric Fanatics, these youngsters were not the type to surrender to a boring afternoon. They'd weave their dreams into the fabric of reality, creating a magical quilt of imagination or stitching the most outrageous outfits for their potatoes. Yes, you heard right, potatoes! They'd dress them up and host the most extravagant potato fashion shows, where the runway was a kitchen countertop. Whether it was knitting a scarf as long as the Mackinac Bridge or sewing a tiny Michigan-shaped button, each child brought their creativity to life, stitch by stitch. Their laughter echoed in the Great Lakes State, spreading joy and reminding everyone that with a little bit of thread, a needle, and a bunch of crazy ideas, you can weave a world of wonder and become a true Fabric Fanatic!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
At our organization, we believe that art is essential for the creative health of our community. To ensure everyone has the opportunity to access art, we are facilitating in-person art classes, providing meaningful employment for art instructors, and supporting local artists with exhibits, gift shops, and customized in-person gallery opportunities. We also provide art appreciation outreach materials to educators and families. Additionally, we offer an inspiring and creative place for business, spiritual, and support groups to meet. We are dedicated to providing quality arts opportunities for everyone in our community and we rely on the financial support of our community to do this. Students of all ages have the opportunity to discover the many ways that creativity and innovation are connected. Through engaging and fun hands-on activities, students will get a better understanding of STEM concepts and visual design. At Makers 'N Shakers, kids can unlock their creativity and gain a deeper understanding of their world. Through collaboration and exciting hands-on activities, they’ll learn about visual design and STEM concepts.
