Camp Cavell has been serving the Metropolitan Detroit Community for over 100 years, providing a safe and welcoming environment for kids of all backgrounds and abilities to participate in outdoor activities. Located on 55 acres of land, with 1,800 feet of Lake Huron shoreline, Camp Cavell offers a range of fun and growth-oriented programs, including Fun Family Weekends, Women’s Getaway Weekends, 50+ Senior Weekends, Kid’s Overnight Summer Camp, and Day Camp. Kids can enjoy a variety of activities, such as swimming, crafts, archery, horseback riding, kayaking, and technical tree climbing, giving them a chance to make new memories and foster their sense of independence.

FUN is the number one answer when we ask kids what they thought of camp… but parents will tell you their kids gained so much more!  We truly believe camp is not just a place, it is an incredible opportunity to learn and grow in a protected environment tailored to meet the needs of kids in a fun and safe way with great role models. We challenge campers to try something new, reach higher than ever before, learn a new skill and share it, be good friends, take responsibility for themselves and their actions, and discover the unique person within. Through these actions, they can learn self-reliance, self-respect, community, and honesty. 

Kid's Camps

A special week for horse lovers! Beginner or advanced, you will love this 5-day program of riding, of friends, and of fun! Each day you will do a project… Give a horse a bath, practice your balance on a horse, or help with horse care. Everyone will create an Equestrian Notebook full of riding and horse information. Have fun while you learn more about horse care, stable operations, and of course English Riding!

High school band camp here for four years.  The setting was pleasant and a great way for me to spend a week with my peers.   They also made sure we had food.   They also made it seem simple.  The lakefront location was a huge plus!   I adore this place so much.
