Their coach is a peculiar fellow known as Turbo Toe Tony. Tony, who once ran so fast he broke the time barrier and arrived before he left, is a retired superhero now using his speed to teach young runners the art of the dash. With his neon green sneakers that glow like fireflies and his hair streaming behind him like a comet's tail, Tony is a sight to behold. He has a laugh that sounds like a hiccupping hyena and a whistle more piercing than an eagle's screech. These kids, hailing from Detroit to Grand Rapids, train with Turbo Toe Tony, who shares his super speed secrets. He teaches them to run like a squirrel escaping a hawk and leap like a frog jumping over a snapping turtle.
