Their mission? Archery - but not your everyday, run-of-the-mill, hit-the-bullseye kind of archery, oh no! This is a spectacle watched by the bemused deer, the chattering squirrels, and the chirping birds, for these Michigan kids have a coach quite unlike any other - a cool and zany character known as Sir Squinty Quivers. Now, Sir Squinty Quivers, named aptly for his signature squint and the quiver full of arrows he carries, is a character to behold. With a belly that jiggles like jell-o with each laugh and a mustache that twitches whenever an arrow sails straight, he's a sight that would tickle your funny bone. He's a tale-teller, a riddle-master, and a joker, all rolled into one. But, he's also the best darned archery instructor this side of the Mississippi! Under his watchful, albeit slightly squinted eyes, the kids of Michigan are transformed into superb archers. They aim, they laugh, they miss, and they try again, their faces lit up brighter than the Mackinac Bridge at sunset. One of the highlights of our property is the Alappat Atelier, an incredible art studio where the celebrated artist Sebastian Alappat works. This is a place where creativity comes alive and children are always thrilled to step into this vibrant space. From massive fossilized dinosaur pieces to an entire section dedicated to Alice in Wonderland, and a fantastic collection of comic book art, there's plenty to ignite their imagination. The studio is well-equipped with all the necessary art supplies, spacious tables, and abundant natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We understand that comfort is essential for both kids and parents. That is why we've ensured that our facilities include a separate waiting area for parents, offering a space for you to relax while your child is busy exploring their creativity. For added convenience, there are also two restrooms on the premises and a picturesque outdoor sitting area where you can soak up the serene surroundings.

From summer programs and rental camps to retreats, there is something for everyone! Our heated facilities can accommodate up to 240 guests in the fall and spring and 175 guests in the winter. During the summer, we offer overnight residential camp weeks for ages 6-17, allowing them to learn more about the Bible and strengthen their faith. At Camp Michawana, we prioritize the spiritual growth of all our campers, hoping to help them know Christ as their Savior and become confident in their faith. Our summer programs, rental camps, and retreats provide the perfect setting for guests of all ages to strengthen their spiritual journey, as well as have an amazing time!
