BeAKid
Guitar Lessons (Ages 5 & Up)
Our guitar instructors teach rock, blues, metal, and country guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs, melodies, sight-reading, and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by ensuring that at each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes. Our instructors accept students of all ages and abilities.

Piano Lessons (Ages 5 & Up)
Our Piano Instructors in Grand Rapids teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn a classical sonatina or popular sheet music, our teachers are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be. Our piano faculty will help you with sight-reading, technique, and theory, but they will also incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons. Piano students need either an acoustic piano or simple, full-sized electronic keyboard (preferably weighted keys) at home to take lessons.

Voice & Singing Lessons (Ages 5 & Up)
If you’ve always wanted to hone your skills as a rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel, Broadway, classical, or R&B singer, Academy of Music in Grand Rapids has the voice teacher for you. Our voice instructors focus primarily on popular music. Each week, students are led through physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, enunciation and more. Each student sets goals with their teacher, either to sound like their favorite recording artist, or to develop their own unique voice.
