At the Family Services and Professional Association (FSPA), we are proud to offer board certified music therapists (MT-BCs) who are dedicated to helping your child reach their goals through the power of music! Our MT-BCs have the extensive knowledge and training needed to provide evidence-based musical activities that promote your child's wellbeing. These activities include improvisation, songwriting, group instrument play, music and movement, and structured music listening. You can be confident that your child is receiving the best care possible with the help of these certified specialists! Flint School of Performing Arts Honors Program
The FSPA Honors Program is designed for highly motivated students in grades 9-12 seeking a comprehensive musical education. The Honors Program is designed to allow students the flexibility to pursue their personal interests, while ensuring each student gains experience in key areas of musical study, including: music lessons, ensemble participation, concert attendance, solo performances, and music theory.

Music Therapy
The FSPA's music therapy services are provided by board certified music therapists (MT-BC's), all of whom have clinical experience using evidenced-based musical practices to address health. Using the science of how music affects the brain and other areas of the body, the music is used to address non-musical goals such as: cognitive, physical, social or emotional needs. Sessions may include: improvisation, songwriting, group instrument play, music and movement, and structured music listening. Music therapists use music to address a variety of health-related needs including: Autism Cerebral Palsy Down Syndrome Trauma ADHD/ADD Tourette's Mood/Anxiety Disorders Substance Use Disorders

Theatre Classes
Flint Repertory Theatre Education joins the Flint School of Performing Arts as part of the newly created Music, Dance and Theatre Instruction Division of the Flint Institute of Music. The largest school of the arts in Michigan is now one of the most comprehensive performing arts instructional programs in the country. The storied history of the Flint Youth Theatre will continue alongside the Flint Youth Ballet and Flint Youth Symphony Orchestra as the pinnacle instructional program for theatre. We'll have everyone - students of all ages, faculty and teaching artists - together where they can maximize their collective performing arts experience - Music, Dance and Theatre for Everyone!
