Welcome to the amazingly beautiful, magical state of Maine, or as my friend Silly Sully the Seagull likes to call it, "the Lobster's Paradise." This is a place where sweet smelling pine trees dance with the winds and the sun kisses the Atlantic Ocean every morning. 

Now let me tell you about the brave, daring young adventurers who take part in boating and canoeing activities in this enchanting state. These are not ordinary kids, oh no! They are the fearless sailors of the Pine Tree State, guided by their trusty Captain, Paddles the Playful Beaver.

Paddles is no ordinary beaver. He wears a shiny captain’s hat and uses his big, flat tail as a paddle. He navigates Maine's stunning waterways with a simple rule: "No splash, no fun!" Every day, these gallant sailors and their Captain embark on thrilling journeys, riding glistening waves atop their sleek boats and canoes. 

They out-paddle the squawking seagulls and race the speedy salmon, their laughter echoing across the water. Sometimes, they even out-row Otis the Old Sea Otter, who forgets where his glasses are and ends up wearing seaweed on his head, thinking it’s his cap! 

Oh, the fun these kids have! Their cheeks glow pink with excitement and their eyes sparkle brighter than the stars at night. They are the boating champions of Maine, the masters of merriment, and the kings and queens of canoeing. Each wave they ride tells a tale of their bravery and every splash they make echoes their endless joy. So, if you dare to join the adventure, remember the rule: "No splash, no fun!" Just ask Paddles, he'll show you how it’s done!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

Dr. George Alexander Kohut, a literary scholar and educator with a vision to provide a healthy and character-building outdoor experience, founded Kamp Kohut in 1907. Coming from the heat and pollution of the city, he ran a boys' school in New York, hence calling it "Kohut's School for Boys".

At Kamp Kohut, we pay special attention to the individual qualities of each camper. We understand that each child has different needs and interests and we strive to make sure that all campers have a truly special summer experience. We provide close supervision and carefully orchestrated detail to ensure that each child’s camp experience is successful.

This gorgeous river stretches across both Maine and New Hampshire, and is the perfect way to experience the beauty of the area. 

Take in the stunning views of the White Mountains and the serenity of the river banks while floating down the Saco. Catch a glimpse of some of the wildlife that call this river home, including ospreys, otters, and bald eagles. It's an experience you won't soon forget!

At Camp Takajo, we maintain a traditional camp experience that is focused on teaching and reinforcing the twelve Arch Ideals. These ideals are at the center of camp life and serve as a guide for our campers and staff members. Our goal is to provide a program that promotes the development of character and personal growth in a safe and positive environment.

The 12 Arch Ideals are integral to the Camp Takajo experience. These ideals form the foundation of our camp and are the cornerstone of our program. They are emulated by our staff and embraced by our campers. The ideals are reinforced throughout camp in both formal and informal settings, from educational assemblies and campfires to daily interactions. They provide the guiding principles for all of our campers and staff, setting the tone for a positive and meaningful summer experience.

Camp Takajo

Abraham and Gertrude Krasker, a professor and teacher from Essex College, had a dream to own a summer camp of their own. They found the perfect spot, a farm nestled in Fryeburg, ME and opened the doors of Indian Acres Camp for Boys in 1924. Two years later, Forest Acres Camp for Girls opened two miles down the road. 

When Abraham passed in 1962, their son Dick took over ownership and management of both camps. With his wife Sandy, Dick ran camp until 1998 when it was purchased by Lisa and Geoff Newman. The Newmans were determined to keep the Krasker's legacy alive and with the help of Neal and Julie Waldman, their dream became a reality. 

Today, Indian and Forest Acres is a thriving summer camp thanks to the hard work of the Newman family. Almost 100 years after its founding, the camp continues to honor the traditions and vision of its founders, Abe and Gertrude Krasker.

For over a century, Camp Wigwam has offered campers a dynamic cultural experience, with an emphasis on sports and fine arts. Today, the camp continues to offer innovative programs that have helped it earn a reputation for excellence. The camp is renowned for its high quality and wide range of activities, from traditional favorites like sailing and basketball to less common offerings such as scuba diving and ceramics. Campers are kept entertained with a variety of crafts, music, and other fun activities, all of which are designed to promote a sense of community and provide an unforgettable summer camp experience.

At Camp Wigwam, children learn invaluable lessons such as self-confidence, independence, and teamwork. Hidden Valley Camp has been a beloved part of family life since 1948. Located in a beautiful and tranquil 350-acre site near the Maine coast, this acclaimed international summer camp offers children and teens, ages 8 to 14, the very best in both arts and outdoor activities. 

You can choose your own focus, whether you're after art camp, horse camp, dance camp, water camp, farm camp, adventure camp, performing arts camp, or sports camp – or any combination of these great areas. Each day, campers will benefit from four one-hour periods of class instruction, enabling them to create, explore and set goals in any of the programs. Parents and campers can even let us know their wishes prior to the summer and we'll help design a tailored camp experience.

At Hidden Valley Camp, children and teens have the chance to experience a summer full of fun and growth, making memories that will last a lifetime.

Since 1915, the YMCA Camp of Maine has been dedicated to fulfilling the principles symbolized by the YMCA triangle, developing mind, body, and spirit for all. Located on the shores of Lake Cobbosseecontee, the camp is situated on over 300 acres of pine tree forests, meadows, and fresh water ponds.

YMCA Camp of Maine offers one and two-week overnight sessions for boys and girls ages 7 - 16. Our campers have the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that is designed to promote individual development while enhancing self-confidence, teamwork, and leadership. Our dedicated staff provides guidance and support, while promoting campers’ independence and creativity. We offer a wide variety of activities that range from adventure and nature activities to swimming, canoeing, archery, and much more.

YMCA Camp of Maine

Abe and Gertrude Krasker's dream of owning a summer camp came true in 1924 when they opened Indian Acres Camp for Boys in Fryeburg, ME. The couple had fallen in love with a property they purchased from Abe's student at Essex College. Two years later, they opened Forest Acres Camp for Girls two miles down the road. 

When Abe passed away in 1962, his son Richard took over the management of both camps, with his mother teaching him the ropes of camp ownership. He and his wife Sandy fully took over in 1969. In 1998, the camps were purchased by Lisa and Geoff Newman who were determined to keep the tradition the Kraskers had established alive. 

Between 2005 and 2010, Neal and Julie Waldman co-directed camp with Lisa and Geoff. Now, almost 100 years after its founding, Indian and Forest Acres thrive under the Newman’s leadership with tradition at the heart of what makes the camp so special.

Forest Acres Camp for Girls

Camp Natarswi in Millinocket is the perfect outdoor escape for a Girl Scout summer adventure! With a spectacular view of Mt. Katahdin, the camp is located in Baxter State Park. Girls can stay in cabins, platform tents, or Adirondack lean-tos and enjoy a full summer of resident camp and troop and family camp opportunities.

The camp features a large dining hall, archery range, picnic shelters, flush toilets, and a beach on Lower Togue Pond - providing a unique and rustic Maine experience. It's the ideal place to explore the trails and hills of the park and make new memories. 

Come to Camp Natarswi in Millinocket and experience the beauty of Maine! With its spectacular views of Mt. For the young adventurers, the YMCA Wilderness Center at Camp Jordan offers a range of programs that are designed to help your child explore the great outdoors. Our Sleep Away Camp and Adventure Seekers program offer a variety of activities for kids of all ages, from canoeing and kayaking to swimming, archery, and more. Our Leaders School gives teens the opportunity to develop leadership skills and foster teamwork, while having fun with friends in the wild.
