Bunk Shows

The whole camp eagerly anticipates our Saturday night bunk shows. Each age group spends a week rehearsing their lines, songs, and dances with our drama crew. Performances during 2021 included High School Musical, The Addams Family, Spamalot and Annie Get Your Gun. Bunk shows foster teamwork and provide campers with a great sense of pride and accomplishment.

Intensive Riding

Walden has a strong riding program, with two riding rings and a stable on the property. Any camper can ride, but some have a greater interest and wish to be scheduled for it more often. If your daughter participates in intensive riding, she will receive a minimum of 25 hours of riding during the summer, learn to care for the horse and the barn.

Wilderness Trips

Every camper goes on three overnight trips that are tailored to meet the abilities of her age group. Younger girls take one-night camping trips and older girls go on mountain climbing and canoeing excursions that take them out of camp for three or four days at a time. There are many beautiful sights in Maine and New Hampshire where campers learn to appreciate a mountain view, a moose sighting, or a starlit sky on a cool summer night. The girls experience the fun and challenges of pitching a tent, cooking over a fire, and cooperating in a group. At the end of the summer, each age group takes a “pleasure trip,” designed for enjoyment and adventure.
