About Worcester's Children Chorus in Worcester, MA

Parents of children and youth who love to sing are in luck! A transformative and musically-challenging program of excellence is now available for their little ones in Central Massachusetts. This program provides professional-level musical training and diverse performance opportunities in a warm and inviting environment. The safe and inclusive community of people behind this program are passionate about enhancing the lives of the community’s children and youth through choral singing. Artistic professionals, music educators, administrators, board members, donors, grantors, and sponsors have come together to make this program of excellence a reality. Their goal is to create a space for growth-oriented learning where children and youth can have fun while pursuing their passion for singing. The program offers a wide range of musical opportunities and experiences for children to explore, from professional-level musical training to diverse performance opportunities. It’s a great place for children and youth who love to sing to express themselves and to build meaningful relationships with their peers. DA CAPO (GRADES 3 & 4)

Da Capo is the WCC’s entry-level choir for children in Grades 3 and 4. It is a friendly, non-competitive environment where each child develops healthy vocal habits, learns the basics of reading music, and learns to thrive in a musical community of friends. The Da Capo singers participate in 2-4 performances throughout the year.

YOUNG ARTISTS (GRADES 5 & 6)

The Young Artists ensemble is for children in Grades 5 and 6 who have completed a year in Da Capo, or who demonstrate the ability to sing at an intermediate level. It is a friendly, non-competitive environment where each child develops healthy vocal habits, learns to read music, and learns to thrive in a musical community of friends. The Young Artist singers participate in 2-4 performances throughout the year. *Runs when minimum enrollment met.

CANTARE (GRADES 9 - 12)

The Cantare ensemble is for students in High School who demonstrate a good deal of previous musical experience, a strong personal connection to music, and a commitment to rehearsing and performing challenging repertoire at a high level. Singers will develop their individual and choral vocal skills while mastering more difficult music across a variety of musical styles. The Cantare singers participate in 3-6 performances throughout the year.
