At South Shore Dance Academy, it's not just about learning to dance. It's about developing important life skills that will last a lifetime. SSDA offers a unique combination of professional ballet training and diverse dance classes, along with enrichment classes to help students become well rounded individuals. Through SSDA's program, children can learn discipline, focus, determination, and a strong work ethic - all while having fun! The staff at SSDA are dedicated to helping their students develop a sense of pride and accomplishment that will stay with them well beyond their time in the dance studio. With a little hard work and dedication, your child can find success in school, life, and in dance.

Mommy (or Daddy) and Me!
This class is designed for children up to age 4 and is a wonderful introduction to music and dance. The class utilizes a number of props, including musical instruments, a parachute, and bubbles. Children in this class work on gross motor skills, coordination, musicality, and body awareness, as well as having FUN! It is ideal for children who can walk, although it can be modified for children who cannot. We currently offer this class for 6 week sessions.

Creative Movement
This program is designed for 3 year olds and stresses the development of large motor skills, musicality, spatial awareness, and listening skills. This class is specially designed with beginning dance movements, musical instruments, and other props. Children will also have monthly objectives such as classroom etiquette, sharing space, expressing emotions, and relationships with peers.

Primary
The primary dance program is for children ages 6 and 7. Children will begin a more formal training in ballet through age-appropriate skill development. Children will also be introduced to more tap technique at the primary level.
