Programs at Weston Drama Workshop in Weston, MA

BeAKid
Morning Program

Designed for students entering Grade 5 through entering Grade 9. Rehearsal Hours: 9:00 am–1:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Cast members will be exposed to various aspects of theater production, i.e., basic stage terms and safety, stage presence, character development, dance, basic music theory, movement, and voice.

Afternoon Program

Designed for students entering Grade 5 through Grade 9. Rehearsal Hours: 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Participants will receive focused training on topics ranging from acting theory and ensemble building to guided monologue and scene work. In their five weeks together, participants will learn what it means to own every aspect of their craft. Between developing the young actor through curricular experiences, and staging a play, each participant will leave a stronger theater artist and with a firm understanding of the inner workings of an acting company.

Evening Program

Designed for students entering Grade 9 through age 23. Rehearsal Hours: 6:30 pm-10:30 pm, Sunday through Thursday. The Evening program focuses on scene study, character development, movement, voice, music theory, and fundamentals of dance while rehearsing for elaborately mounted productions. – Daily attendance is required. – Friday evening rehearsals will be added when needed. – During Tech Week actors in shows on the main stage must be available to rehearse between the hours of 1 PM and 11 PM, with shows alternating rehearsal schedules each day.
