TODDLERS (12 TO 24 MONTHS) AND TWOS (24 TO 36 MONTHS)
Young toddlers learn best by doing and playing, by exploring the world around them using all their senses. The toddler classrooms and playgrounds are carefully designed to promote safe exploration and learning. The interest area in the classrooms provide a wealth of different toddler activities, yet remained uncluttered, with room to move and practice developing motor skills. During the toddler years language skills are really blossoming. We sing and talk and read constantly in these classrooms; we listen and respond to the children as they begin using their new language skills. We paint and draw and glue and splash, having fun and making big messes.

PRE-SCHOOL (3 TO 5 YEARS OF AGE)
The most important goal of our pre-school program is to help children become enthusiastic learners. The pre-school teachers plan around weekly and monthly themes designed to meet the needs of all types of learners and encourage children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their own ideas and experiment. Our pre-schoolers are guided to learn at their own pace and in ways that are best for them. Distinct interest areas have been created in each classroom – manipulative toys, home living, art, science, computer, books, puzzles and games – in order to make choices clearer to the children. The daily schedule also supports appropriate learning by providing a blend of teacher directed and child initiated activities, large and small group work and individual time. At A Place To Grow Too we recognize the importance of combining a well-designed curriculum with age appropriate learning centers and we understand how these two classroom components contribute to each child’s development.
